LG washer error codes name the system that is faulting — drain, balance, fill, motor or door. OE, UE, IE, LE and dE are the ones we see most on LG front- and top-loaders. Here is what each means and when to call a technician.
Common LG codes
- OE: drain error — clogged or failed drain pump, or kinked hose
- UE: unbalanced load — redistribute; if it repeats, worn suspension
- IE: inlet/fill error — water supply, hoses or inlet valve
- LE: motor/locked rotor — overload or a motor/hall-sensor fault
- dE: door error — door not locking or a failed door lock
Try this first
For OE, check the drain hose and clean the pump filter. For IE, confirm both water valves are open and the inlet screens are clear. For UE, rebalance the load and make sure the machine is level. If the code returns, the part likely needs replacing.
When to call
A failed pump, inlet valve, door lock or motor sensor is a repair, usually $150–$350. We confirm the exact part and quote before any work. See our LG page for more.
